

86, of Brandon, FL passed away on January 22nd. He was born in Coaldale, PA and lived in Tamaqua, PA before moving to Springfield, MA his hometown. He was of Lithuanian descent and was very proud of it. His parents Pius Seder and Anna Yesacavage Seder moved to the USA in the early 1900's. He was the last surviving sibling and was predeceased by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Carl was a true patriot. He served in the US Navy on the U.S.S. Barton DD-722 and in the U.S. Air Force from which he retired on June 30, 1972. He is a veteran of the Korean War. He was proud to be a veteran and was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Elks, Moose Lodge and other venues that honored veterans. He made it a point to thank all Veterans for their service. He lived in many different US cities and foreign countries and loved to travel anytime he could. He did an “Around the World” cruise in 1952 while in the Navy. He spoke multiple languages was fluent in English, German and Spanish and enjoyed traveling the world with his wife of 65 years. He was known as a collector of many things including but not limited to: coins, stamps, music, books, hats and model cars. He is survived by his wife, Gisela Erika Maria Seder; five children, David Seder, Steven Seder, Michaela Seder-Paleveda, Debra Seder-Gaines and Heidi Seder-Braden. Also, Karen Huckabee-Seder (daughter in-law) and Todd Gaines (son-in-law); 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; many brother and sister-in laws in Germany, and endless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He loved all unconditionally.
You cannot say that Carl is dead he is just away. We will all be with him again someday. He is with his and our loved ones whom all of us miss. I can see the smile on his face as he asks someone to get him a cup of coffee.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 31st from 3-5pm at Blount & Curry MacDill. The service will take place the following day, Monday, at 11am at Blount & Curry MacDill followed by interment at Florida National Cemetery at 2pm.
