Catherine was pure joy! She will always be remembered for her sassy, playful personality and her love of music, especially Selena. She enjoyed long walks, her sisters, her nurses and her dog Maddon. Chippie loved the water and going fast! She was “Chippie in her Zippie.” Her wheelchair was her chariot, and she was only in it for the parking. We believe that Chippie graduated from Academy of the Holy Names in 2021 and went on to attend Florida State where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music and graduated with honors. Catherine is our treasure and the heart and soul of our family. We will celebrate her and remember her for the rest of our lives! We love you, Chippie! Forever!
Catherine is survived by her parents, Vivian and Stephen Kimbler, her sisters Caroline Kimbler and Jessica Hypes (Ian), and her beloved niece, Charlotte; her aunts and uncles, Rick Kimbler (Margeaux), Karen Rankin (Glenn), Deborah Kimbler (Jerry Messerschmitt), Jeff Kimbler (Peter Dreissig), and John Grima (Lisa). Catherine also leaves behind her beloved dog Maddon and many friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents John and Jane Grima, and Ron and Shirley Kimbler, and her Uncle Victor Grima.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, Litz La O, Niurys Aguilar, Licet Ramos, Norma Hernandez, Lan Nguyen, and Tina Torres for their compassion and dedication throughout the years spent by Catherine’s side.
A memorial mass will be held at The Academy of the Holy Names Chapel on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11am. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Catherine’s life.
