Catherine Wright

Katie passed on to God on April 6, 2013, at home, surrounded by her loved ones. Born Feb. 26, 1925, in Akron OH to Joseph Courtney and Laura Nicholas, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stan Wright (d. 2004), and their son Christopher (d. 1998). She is survived by her son Fr. Gary Wright, S.J., of Detroit, daughter-in-law Holly Jones Wright and grandchildren Zachary and Kelly, of Houston, 4 of her 6 siblings, and many nieces and nephews. After moving from Ohio to Carrollwood in the early 1970s, her love of God drew her into more spiritual activities; she became a life member of the Marian Servants of Divine Providence and eventually trained as a spiritual director. She enjoyed providing spiritual support and guidance to many, and served also on prayer teams and the board at Our Lady of Divine Providence House of Prayer, where all services will be held: 711 S. Bayview Ave, Clearwater. Visitation and wake service, Sunday April 14, 7:00-9:00 PM. Funeral mass, Monday April 15, 11:00 AM (with viewing from 10:00), followed by lunch reception. In lieu of flowers, donations to the House of Prayer.
