Charles John Garczynski

Born on December 13, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Charles and Mamie Garczynski, Charles lived a life defined by service, dedication, faith, adventure, and an unwavering love for his family. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Pop Pop, Veteran, and friend whose kindness, wisdom, and sense of humor touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Charles proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, carrying the values of honor, courage, and commitment throughout his life. Following his military service, he enjoyed a distinguished career as an Engineer with Honeywell, where he worked until his retirement. He also served as Past President of Palma Ceia Little League, helping support young athletes and their families. Charles was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, reflecting his strong faith and commitment to serving others.

Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Bridget Garczynski, and by his parents, Charles and Mamie Garczynski. For the last ten years of Bridget's life, Charles devoted himself to being her loving caregiver, providing her with unwavering support, compassion, and devotion. Their enduring marriage was a beautiful testament to the depth of their love and commitment to one another.

He is survived by his loving children, Charmaine Sierra; Deborah DiSalvo (Mike); Denise Garczynski (John); and Dennis Garczynski (Sylvia). He also leaves behind his cherished granddaughter, Lilian Bridget Sierra, who brought immeasurable joy, pride, and happiness to his life. Charles is also survived by his sister-in-law, Nell; brother-in-law, Leo (Elizabeth); and many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Charles embraced life with enthusiasm and a spirit of adventure. He loved traveling the world, exploring new places, and creating lasting memories with family and friends. An avid runner, he valued staying active and meeting life's challenges with determination and perseverance. He found great joy in fishing, gardening, listening to country music, enjoying a cold beer, smoking cigars, and spending time at the casino. He was also an avid follower of current events and politics and enjoyed engaging in spirited conversations with family and friends. A devoted animal lover, Charles had a special affection for pets and cherished the companionship and joy they brought to his life. Known for his quick wit and infectious humor, Charles never missed an opportunity to tell a joke, share a laugh, and brighten the day of those around him.

To some he was Charles; to others, Chuck, Ski, Mr. C, Dad, Poppy, or Pop Pop—but to all who knew him, he was a man of integrity, laughter, loyalty, and love. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched and in the countless stories that will continue to be shared for generations to come.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers who provided Charles with loving, compassionate, and dedicated care during the last two years of his life. Their kindness, friendship, and support brought comfort not only to Charles but also to his family. We are deeply thankful for the dignity, respect, and genuine affection they showed him each day.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in the countless memories we shared and in the knowledge that Charles has been reunited with his beloved Bridget.

Forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home-MacDill Avenue, Bayshore Room, 605 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, Florida 33609, on August 1, 2026, from 10:30am to 11:30am, followed by a Funeral Service from 11:30am to 12:15pm.

A Committal Service will take place at Garden Of Memories, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, FL 33610, on August 1, 2026, from 1:00pm to 1:30 pm.
