Charlotte Dunn

Charlotte Rawls Dunn, 92, died December 22 in Louisville, CO. She was preceded in death by a son, Randall Dunn and her husband Hampton Dunn. She is survived by a daughter, Janice (Clark) Oldroyd of Boulder, CO, and sons Hank (Sally) Dunn of Leesburg, VA and Dennis (Erice Shepard) Dunn of Havana, FL, a sister Marion Gray and a brother Dennis (Martha) Rawls. Other survivors include six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dunn is a graduate of Plant High School and the Gordon Keller School of Nursing. She began her nursing career at Tampa General Hospital, where she met her future husband and love of her life, Hampton, while he was on assignment as a reporter for the Tampa Daily Times. Later as a homemaker, she loved cooking, baking bread, sewing, and gardening, as well as playing the violin in the church orchestra, volunteering in the church nursery and with the Girl Scouts (camp nurse), playing tennis, briefly teaching high school, and eventually serving as a 22-year volunteer at Moffitt Cancer Center. She was a member of University Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL 33614, from 10 AM to Noon on Friday, December 30. A memorial service will be held at the University Baptist Church, 2121 East 131st AVE, Tampa, FL 33612 at 3:30PM also on Friday. Interment is private.
