The next time you happen to spy
The flight of a hovering dragonfly
Let your mind be still and open your heart.
Feel and sense someone you've held very dear,
A person you have loved who is no longer here an image of someone you have known will soon appear
The feeling comes from deep inside
brought to you through the dragonfly,
when people leave earth once and for all 
dragonflies are the spirits God has call to touch

Christie was and will always be the coolest chick!!! She was always so funny and genuine.  I didn't get to see her as often but whenever I did she always made me feel special.  I have always loved that about her!! Love and miss you Christie!!

Christy, You have been part of my life since you were young, we went through most of life's ups and downs together, you were my rock at times and I was yours at others. We may not talked every day or seen each other as much as I wanted to, even though we always wanted to get together, life has a funny way of doing that to us. I have Always Loved You and I will Always Love You and I Will Miss You. You are Forever in my heart ❤

I am not one that is good with the words.... but within my time with her and the family she was always the first one to welcome me and truly make me feel like I was part of the family and not an outsider. She had so much love and space in her heart for everyone. She was a mother or aunt figure to so many and my heart aches for her family left behind. I pray that her daughters will stay strong and continue to make her proud. Heaven always takes the good ones.

I went to college in Tampa where I met Danielle, and we quickly became best friends and roommates. She introduced me to her family, as mine was over 9 hours away! Aunt Christy made me feel like I was family! Even after I moved back home, she let me stay at her house, and we made a party out of it. I have so many fond memories of her. She was always so giving, so kind, and so honest, and I just loved her for it! She was someone who would go line dancing WITH her kids, and everyone still had a blast. Aunt Christy was such a joy and will definitely be missed. My heart goes out to the family she left behind. I love them all so much!!!

Hey mom as we go wayyy back to you and my mom taking me and Brittany line dancing in an adult bar we weren't even old enough for. Then the sleepovers and all the stuff you used to do to make sure all of us girls had a great time. Mom you are gone but never forgotten we love and miss you!! Fly high in heaven with peepaw and we will meet again one day. Until then please watch over all of us especially your girls. We love you!!

Not only were you an amazing grandmother mother etc you was always a great cheer mom , seeing you at competitions right behind coach Brittany was what kept Earl Simmons going , from peewee all the way up to varsity I have pretty much known you most of my life , your memories in AAYA and to all of coach brittanys teams will always be in our hearts forever , you was one great woman and I'm glad I grew up having a somewhat type of cheer mom like you , Please watch over your family and all of the past cheerleaders that you cared so much for :) your memory will forever be with your family AAYA and all of coach brittanys teams :)

Mom, These past 2 years, our family has experienced so much grief, and at some point you start to wonder if it's something you will just get used to.  But how can you and do you really want to?  With each loss, we grieve differently.  Each loss creates new scars, and each scar is a testament to the love and the relationship we had with that person.  Losing you, my mother, my rock, my best friend, cuts to my core, as you have taken the place of so many others in my life but no one can replace you.  As a little girl, I can remember you and I used to love the movie, The Fox and The Hound.  I particularly loved the character, Big Mama.  As you may recall, Big Mama was the owl in the movie and I used to tell you that you reminded me of her but naturally that offended you.  Big Mama's size is not what reminded me of you though, but her character did.  She was the matriarch of the forest who possessed a great deal of wisdom.  Wisdom that she passed down to her forest friends, the same wisdom that you have passed down to each of us.  Big Mama was beautiful, caring, compassionate, forgiving, funny, hardworking, loving, patient, strong, thoughtful, and understanding.  You possessed all these characteristics, so as the years went on I simply turned "Big Mama" into "Mama Dukes".  Whether people called you Christy, Mama Dukes, Aunt or Titi, you were a mom and a best friend to all of us.  You were known by only one other name, to only one other person, G-Maw.  You were so proud to be a grandmother to Harvey.  The bond you had with him was like no other.  Often times I found myself just sitting, starring at the two of you, watching your love and laughter you had for each other.  A site that could do nothing else but make me smile.  Even in these past few months and weeks leading us here, you found strength at just the sound of his name.  You loved him and he loved you.  As we all filled your hospital room that Sunday afternoon, holding your hand, trying to keep you comfortable, as you took your last breaths, a toddler stood still.  Not knowing or fully comprehending the sorrow that had taken over the room, he was quiet.  He knew from the tears in our eyes this was no time for a "toddler" moment.  He kissed you, as did we.  We all told you how much we loved you, that it was okay for you to go, that your work here was done, and that we will be okay, and one day we will be, but we will forever be different.  Even if you ask Harvey, "Where's G-Maw" he responds "working", totally unsolicited on our end.  We simply respond "yes baby, G-Maw is working, working to protect us."  This past week, I came across a quote, "If I only had one wish, I'd wish for one more day with you, but then I would only want another one."  For me, this couldn't be more true.  I fight the tears every time I think of all the things you will miss or what I will miss watching you get to experience.  Harvey's birthdays, first days of school, teaching him to ride a bike, his first sports practices, hearing you scream at him "good job", his first date (although I'm not sure you could handle watching this since you almost killed a few of mine), teaching him to drive, watching him graduate, watching him get married and have children of his own.  I know you truly do have the best seat in house to all these monumental moments in his life but in the back of my mind, I can't help hearing you say, as Susan Sarandon did in another favorite movie of ours, StepMom, "It's okay to miss me.  You can miss me, and you take me with you.  When you're in trouble, have me there.  And when you fall in love, have me there.  That's how people go on forever, you know...because somebody takes them along.  On your graduation and your wedding...and when you have your babies.  Take me along, will you?"  We sure will.  We will take you along.  Every step of the way.  You live within each of us and although it's not enough because isn't everything, we know it's everything you could ask for.  We love and miss you Mom.  Fly High Dragonfly.

Christy was one of those people that as soon as you saw her you smiled. She always would welcome you with a hug and genuine interest in how you were. She was always kind and quick witted-laughter was abundant when she was around. She raised 2 amazing daughters that will continue to spread the love and laughter that their mother did.  You will be missed Christy- Rest In Peace and know how much you were loved.❤

Mom, Where to begin....You were not just my mom you were my bestfriend, Mother and Father. You had such a big role in my life. The mother/daughter bond we shared is what everyone wants. I told you everything and you were the first person I would call to tell, even the little things. I have never feared anything more than the thought of losing you. When you took you last breath I told you I will try my best to be ok. Mom, I know I will eventually be ok but it is going to be the hardest thing I will ever try to do. The reason I know I will be ok is because you will always be by my side to help me through the battle of life and guide me through the difficult times, as you always did. You were my rock and inspiration. If I grow up to become the wise woman you were it would be a blessing. I could go on and on about you Mom I am so proud to call you my Mom. Thank you for everything you have done for Brittany and I we are truly lucky to have you as a our Mother. You will always be my mother and I will NEVER forget you, NEVER! I'm sure you have tons of catching up to do and Uncle Stevie showing you all the pranks he has done since he went to heaven. Heaven will never be dull having our family in it. Please give my love to everyone. Mom I love you more than life itself. Thank you being my inspirational mother. I will look out for you and every time I see a dragonfly I will have proof you are with me. I will always miss you! Fly High Mom!

Although we only saw each other at cheer competitions, it was always great to see you! You always had a big smile and hug for me.  I am sorry we never got to go country dancing like we joked about but I know you are now dancing with the angels. We are so saddened by the loss of Christy. I will miss her smile and laugh. She was a great mother, daughter, sister and friend and will be missed dearly. Wish we could be there for the services. Our hearts go out to the family.

I had only met you a couple of times but i could tell right away that your soul was very warm and loving.  The way you loved your family was beautiful. You will truly be missed around this community. I am so blessed to have known Christy. Even though it was only for a short time, I think I started calling her mom on the second day after meeting her. She was a joy, a delight! She gave me wonderful advice on parenting, being a single mom and more. I will miss her laugh, singing along to music at the office and going out to lunch. What a wonderful woman, who loved big...and was loved even bigger!

I am so blessed to have known you for many years.  You always had a way to make people smile and laugh.  I can never thank you enough for the impact you had on Breanna's upbringing.  While I know you are in a better place and not in pain anymore, the world lost an amazing person.  Love and miss you beyond what words can express.  ❤

One of my favorite memories of Christy was of her just laughing. Christy, Brittany, and I were in an Orlando hotel for cheerleading and Christy and I were sitting on a bed just talking and laughing. She always brought out an extra goofy side of me and I remember joking and laughing all night long. She treated friends as family and she loved her family beyond words. Thank you, Brittany and Brooke, for sharing her with me.

Where do I even begin, aunt Christy you were always more then just an "aunt" to me. You've always been there for me, stood up for me, cried with me as if I was one of your own.
