Oh Craig, we really miss the table side Seinfeld trivia chats, seeing your great big cheesy grin as we walked through the door, and that laugh.  Really hoping to replace the door buzzer ding with the Seinfeld bass line at some point out of respect of course.  We're still weekly fixtures and love being able to see the rest of the Family as often as we possibly can.

To the Trunk family,

Its still hard to believe a year has already gone by.  I haven't forgotten Craig and have many great memories knowing him for many years even when he was at the Manhattan location across the street. The Trunk family are in my thoughts and always will and such a great loving family.  It still makes me sad that he is not here and was a shock to me and everyone who knew him when I found out he passed. The memories we have of him will always be with us forever as that is something  that can never be taken away. He is truly missed by so many of us! 

I remember Craig and his family since 1984 when they were in their original location on Manhattan.  Like most of their clients it was natural to feel a  connection with him and his parents who were just amazingly good souls.  Over the many years I watched Craig grow, get married and ultimately have his children like myself.  The sorrow I have felt since his departure from us has not subsided but I know he will live forever in our thoughts. 

I have been going to Schiller’s since before I could walk. I consider the Trunks part of my extended family, and Craig will always be one of my favorite people.  Such a huge loss, words can not express… but what an enormous gain for heaven. To that extent, I am admittedly jealous that St. Peter is getting to argue the finer points of sports with Craig over a Kloster until the rest of us can get up there to join them.

I am so sorry to hear of Craig's passing.  I am keeping your family close in my heart and prayers.  I have such wonderful memories of coming to Schiller's.  It always felt like I was visiting with friends and the food was always great!  I moved to NC almost 6 years ago but have never forgotten one of my favorite places and all of you.  My deepest sympathy.   

Dear Trunk family...I've been a customer and friend since 1987 when you were across the street and am at a complete loss for words. Please be strong because that's all you can do for him now.  His smile and selflessness was intoxicating. In over 30 years of eating in your place he ALWAYS greeted me with a smile and a cold frosted mug for whatever beer he recommended for me that day. A big personality in the world is gone and it hurts so much. The number of people he touched in all the years he was here is staggering. I'm proud to say I knew him and I'll miss him dearly.

Im speechless.... I had known Craig since 1986 . We had first met at the bayshore athletic club....He was such a positive force.... I always enjoyed hearing about  all the family travels and the Chicago Bears predictions...... He will be sorely missed.... Thoughts and prayers to Erhardt  Elizabeth and all the family.... May God Rest His Soul!

I grew up around the corner from Schillers and I was a kid when the family took it over. We would go there every weekend. I remember Craig was such a nice guy always smiling and laughing. We would talk about lifting weights and his competitions. We would talk about golf. He treated us with respect and courtesy even though we were younger. 

The Trunk Family were such Wonderful Friends and Neighbors for so many years. I can remember Craig racing down the Fair Oaks sidewalk with all of the kids in a wagon. Wonderful Family, amazing Kids, Dear Parents...They say Gratitude is the Greatest Virtue and we are Truly Grateful for our Friendship with the Trunk Family.

Craig was one of my favorite friends 40+ years ago in high school.  I moved to Pinellas county in 1987, but never realized we ended up just across the bridge. We worked together at Ponderosa,  but have thought of him over the years! Sorry you are going through a very great loss. I thank you for all the pictures and memories of his life since I lost track of him. May you find peace and assurance from God!

 I will remember, Craig for his love for life, great personality and a huge Chicago Bears fan! My family and I have been long time friends of he and Erhard and Elizabeth. Erhard, Elisabeth and family, I have been going to Schillers since I was a teen. When you bought the deli Craig was such a delight.  Always smiling and full of  life. I will miss him.

It will be hard to sit in the comforting surrounds of the deli and not hear Craig spouting lines from Seinfeld, challenging us to guess episodes and being a source of entertainment and good things. I have known the Trunk family since I arrived in Tampa back in 1984.  There are no words that can truly express the loss that I feel knowing that Craig will no longer be here to share his life stories w me.  My sincerest sympathies go out to his entire family as I know they are missing him every day.  

I'm heartbroken at the news. As Dad said, Schiller's was like a home away from home. No matter how dark and stormy the afternoon might be (literally or figuratively), Craig was always a ray of sunshine.

And he always will be. The love and support we all felt there will continue on in the world to engender the same, in kind. Thank you.

My family and I are in shock and feeling a great loss. The Deli became home away from home for us, and Craig was always one of the bright lights there. I will be praying for you all to find strength in the face of this loss.

We are incredibly sad to hear about Craig. Elizabeth, Erhard,  please  know that all of you are in our hearts and prayers.  If there is anything at all  that we can do to help during this terrible time, just ask. We will miss Craig’s welcoming smile as well as his sandwiches! 

Not only did he know “my” sandwich to heart but, he was a great workout partner. He pushed when I wanted to give up. Craig also gave me the largest hug when he found out Rob passed away.  He will truly be missed. My prayers go out to all the family.

I am in total shock right now and sad! My thoughts and prayers go out to you all at this time on the loss of your son Craig. Not sure what happened. Have known him since the 80's when he used to come in to Publix on Neptune where I worked. Remembering how he would stop by daily and come to the bakery to get bread. He was such a nice person and could never forget his smile. I can't believe he is gone, was just there at the deli before 4th of July he was there and talked memories for a short time. God Bless you all at this difficult time. May you hold onto all the memories of Craig forever. What a beautiful life tribute you left in his memory.

I am very honored to have met and had the pleasure of Craig’s company. I will never forget his always smiling face,  his encouraging words and motivational spirit and let’s not forget all of his crazy antics at Leo’s Gym!

I have been going there for years. Gramps was 100% German and made all the best for us. When he passed Schiller's was my "memory" place where all the best menory foods were made. He, and his family, are and will be part of that memory forever. Hope he finds my gramps and has a beer and liverwurst sandwich in the great unknown. God Bless to All. 

The saddest news I have heard. I have been going to the deli for a long time. My heart goes out to his family, Mom and Dad. Every season we talked about the rivalry between the Bears & Packers. May you Rest In Peace Craig. 

I am so sorry to hear about this. I just always thought he was Schiller's son. He was such a nice, pleasant person every time I saw him in the market. Terrible loss and I am very sorry.

Craig was always welcoming to us at the restaurant and always had a smile on his face. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this tragic time. 

Here’s to you, Craig... I stopped by Schiller’s for a Pastrami Sandwich last week and the store was closed. I immediately thought it was the Annual Vacation weeks so I backed out and kept moving. Today I heard the sad news of your passing. My sincerest condolences to the family, and my thanks to you for always jumping up to carry my annual case of Spaten Oktoberfest to my truck for me. What a loss.., we Jennifer, Peter, and Henry - cannot get it into our heads. We have known Craig as the upbeat, humourous, full-of-life guy for over 10 years. Henry knew him all his life ... Coming to Schiller's,  Craig was the foundation that carried it - hard working and always ready for a joke and laugh.  The world is not the same without him. The picture shows Craig as we will always remember.  We cry with all of you for losing him. I raise my glass to you, Craig! May you rest in peace.

Caig and I shared a place to live in the mid eighties in Jackson Hole, Wyo. Fond memories. Always a smile on his face and great attitude. I will always remember his laugh and smile. My heart felt condolences to his family.
