

Daniel Gerard Farrelly, 61, of Lutz, FL passed away peacefully Thurs Oct 24, 2019 at home surrounded by family and friends. Danny was born in Castletown Co .Meath, Ireland to the late James and Mary Farrelly. He moved to the States in 1989 to join his buddy Paul Kavanaugh from Ireland. In 1997, Danny met the love of his life, Eileen at a party in South Tampa. They married in August 1998 and lived on Davis Island. Twin girls Posie and MaryKate were born Oct 2002. The young family moved to Ireland in 2006 to be with Danny’s family then returned to the States in 2011 to live in Lutz, FL. Danny was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed taking care of the house, the pool, doing yard work and cooking the family meals. He also cared for the family dog Coco and their 3 cats. Interests include NASA, engineering and space. Danny was an avid golf and soccer fan who coached Posie’s soccer team and spent countless hours teaching Posie golf. Posie is an accomplished golfer on the Steinbrenner High school golf team. Danny and MaryKate shared a love of music, he spent many hours teaching her to play the guitar and they enjoyed listening to music together. MaryKate is a Championship level Irish Dancer at Gilleoghan Irish Dance. Danny traveled to many Irish dance competitions. Danny was loved by everyone that knew him, especially those that worked with him at St. Joseph’s Hospital North where he was a Patient Care Technician (PCT). He previously worked 14 years for the City of Tampa Water Dept. Danny is survived by his wife, Eileen Wilson Farrelly; 17 year old twin daughters, Posie & MaryKate; brothers, Tony & Davy Farrelly; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Danny will be laid to rest in Castletown Cemetery, Ireland. A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, Nov 3rd at Bay Hope Church, 17030 Lakeshore Rd, Lutz, FL. Visitation at 4:30pm and service 5:00pm with light reception to follow. As Danny would want, come as you are, casual service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Suncoast Kids Place in Danny’s name or to the Memorial College Fund for Danny’s twin daughters, Posie & MaryKate. Both links are listed below.
