My condolences to the Koch family. I worked with Mr Koch for many years at Kreamer Street Elementary as the School Nurse . He was responsible for hiring me and I had 25 great years there. May he Rest In Peace.

Mr. Koch was my 6th grade teacher at Verne Critz Elementary School. Many years later I was the music teacher at the Kreamer St. School in Bellport NY....he was my principal. I'm happy to see he had such a long and happy retirement. My sincere sympathy to his family.

It was such a great experience being a neighbor to Dan and Claire. We called Dan "MAYOR DAN" as he always kept on eye on all of us. He had the best stories of his childhood, shared stories of his Military Days and also played for "AAA Baseball" for the Yankees. He loved his Grandchildren, always keeping us abreast of what they were doing as well. We shared baked goods, cigars, movies and books. Such an educated, interesting man who will be missed in our neighborhood. "Say Hi to Claire for us Mayor Dan"! We will miss you dearly....

Having been Dan & Claire's neighbor for so many years, it won't be the same now without Dan. Whenever we would get the morning paper before the sun we would always wave to Dan. Working in
our back yard and smelling the cigar while he sat on the porch, driving by our house in route to the library and beeping and the holiday and birthday goodies. Even though he will be solely missed, there is comfort knowing he is in heaven reunited with Claire.
