Born in Ciales, Puerto Rico on February 25, 1944 to the late Ventura Torres and Blanca Ortega, Delfin was a longtime resident of Stamford, CT arriving from Puerto Rico in 1962. In 1963, he began a career at Clairol/Bristol Myers where he retired as a Line Technician Supervisor in 1999. Delfin and his wife, Gloria would later move to Tampa, FL in 2001. He will be remembered as an avid NY Yankees fan, who absolutely loved music and dancing, and enjoyed playing dominoes with family and friends. Delfin had a great sense of humor that provided his family and friends with many great memories.
Delfin is survived by his wife of 54 years, B. Gloria (Diaz) Torres, his four children and 13 grandchildren: daughter Evelyn “Ellie” Brooks (and her children Starr, Evan and Elysse), son Elvin (and wife Yolanda and his children Katelin, Vinny, Joey, Gabriel and Gavin), daughter Darlene “Dolly” (and her children Angel, Jonathan and Jaylene), and daughter Mavelyn Blanco (husband Edward and their daughters Brianna and Isabella). Delfin also leaves behind his sisters Aida from Puerto Rico, Socorro and Maria from Massachusetts, brothers Enrique and Antonio from New Mexico, Abisail and Samuel from Puerto Rico, Justiniano from New York and a very large extended family who all loved him dearly. Delfin was pre-deceased by his sisters Genoveva, Margarita, Iris and Teresa and brothers William and Abigail.
Delfin will always be remembered as a loving, caring and giving man who unselfishly gave to others. We will cherish the loving memories that will forever be in our hearts.
