March 11, 1997 – October 23, 2025
Devin Michael Doyle, 28, of Tampa, Florida, passed away unexpectedly from an undiagnosed cardiac condition at his home on Thursday, October 23, 2025. Devin spent the first two years of his life in Wakefield, Massachusetts, before his family moved to Tampa, where he was raised.
Devin’s life was full from the very beginning. Growing up, he attended Incarnation Catholic School and Jesuit High School, where he fostered a love for baseball, became an Eagle Scout, and discovered passions that stayed with him throughout his life like music and the outdoors. He thrived on exploring alongside friends who became like brothers whether fishing, hunting, or doing what boys do. Devin was a member of the Portuguese American Club, where he danced in the folklore group. He loved Harry Potter. He was raised in a vibrant, close-knit neighborhood, where he spent countless hours outside climbing trees, playing parkour, and laughing with friends and family, surrounded by a community that became an extension of his own family.
Together with his parents and family, Devin was proud to have visited every Major League Baseball stadium across the country. He was a lifelong parishioner of Incarnation Catholic Church, where he served as an altar server for nearly 14 years, received his sacraments, and later proudly served as the confirmation sponsor for Gabriela, the love of his life and his fiancée at the time, who would later become his cherished wife. It was also at Incarnation that he and Gabriela were married.. a deeply meaningful, full-circle moment in a place that held such importance in his life.
Devin earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, as well as his master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, from the University of Florida, where he made incredible friendships that became like family. It was also there that he met and fell deeply in love with his soulmate, Gabriela Abadia, whom he cherished with all of his heart. She shares his love of engineering, adventure, and life. Together, they built seven years filled with laughter, exploration, shared dreams, and unwavering support for one another — a time of joy and partnership that, though far too short, was profound and unforgettable.
Devin began his career as an aerospace engineer at Boeing in Mesa, Arizona, working on Apache helicopters. Though it was difficult being far from Gabriela and his close-knit family, he pursued his dreams with determination and grace. On his birthday, March 11, 2022, Devin proposed to Gabriela in Sedona, Arizona — calling it the best birthday gift of his life.
He later continued his career at Northrop Grumman in Melbourne, Florida, working on naval aviation advancements that fulfilled his lifelong dream of being an aerospace engineer. After completing her PhD, Gabriela joined him at the company, and their final day together happened to be a beautiful employee appreciation day where they ate lunch together, laughed together, and shared a deep gratitude for everything they had built and achieved together.
Devin and Gabriela were married on November 4, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. In the seven years they shared, they embarked on countless journeys, purchased the home of their dreams, and shared so many wonderful memories that will be cherished forever.
Together, they shared a love of good food, great music, cozy nights watching their favorite shows, and countless moments of laughter. Devin adored their dog, Cooper, who brought endless joy to his days. He loved playing his guitar and singing, cooking on the grill or smoker, playing video games with his friends, and he made it a priority to stay in touch with family and friends through regular calls and FaceTimes. He was a kind, tender, and gentle soul who loved deeply, gave selflessly, and would have done anything for the people he cared about.
Devin is survived by his beloved wife, Gabriela Abadia-Doyle; his devoted parents, David and Christine Doyle; his loving siblings, Mark and Erin Zolkiwsky, and Marcos and Erica Rivera; and his cherished godchildren/nieces and nephews — Amelia, Jonathan, Marcos Juni, Carina, and Jino — who adored their Deedle Dee.
He will also be forever missed by his grandmothers, Gail Doyle and Mary Nelson; his godparents, Tom and Lori Keenan; his in-laws, Antonio, Sonia, Alexandra, Roberto, and Luz Abadia, who loved him as their own; his great-aunts, Tillie, Carmen, and Connie; as well as numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends — and by all who were lucky enough to know and love him.
Devin’s life was a brilliant tapestry of love, tenderness, joy, and purpose. In just 28 years, he made a lasting impact on everyone he met, leaving a legacy of laughter, kindness, and unwavering devotion. His spirit, his warmth, and his light will continue to shine in the hearts of family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him.
