Diana Liles Valenti, 97, of Temple Terrace, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 2, 2026. Born on April 7, 1929, in Jefferson County, Kentucky, Diana was the beloved daughter of Parker and Bernice Caton Liles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; sister, Bobbie Liles; and son, Larry. Though they have gone before her, the memories they shared remained close to her heart throughout her life.
Diana is survived by her daughter, Shana Valenti Tirado (Duane Madill); daughter-in-law, Susan Valenti; and cherished grandchildren - Alexandra Tirado (Julian Sellan), Maggie Tirado (Mallory Sutton) and Maren Valenti. She also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and countless lives touched by her kindness and generosity.
Diana spent her childhood in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating from the University of Georgia, Atlanta Division. She moved to Tampa after meeting her husband Frank while he attended Georgia Tech. Frank and Diana moved to Temple Terrace in the 1950s. Frank designed and built their family home in 1967, creating a place that would become the heart of countless family memories.
A woman of remarkable creativity and artistic talent, Diana had an eye for beauty and design. She filled their home with mid-century modern treasures, and a beloved Nutcracker collection. Her artistic pursuits included pottery, sewing and crafting. More than anything, Diana was devoted to her family. She enthusiastically supported her children’s and grandchildren’s interests, driving them to music lessons, dance classes, performances, art exhibitions, and recitals. She was a constant source of encouragement and love, and she took great joy in helping care for her grandchildren from the day they were born.
She was also committed to serving her community. She volunteered her time with various committees at the Temple Terrace Community Church, Temple Terrace Garden Club in addition to generously giving countless hours to Frank Rey Dance Studio and the Florida Ballet Company. She served many years as co-chair of the Temple Terrace Community Art Show founded in 1973. Her willingness to help serve and support others left a lasting impact on those around her.
An animal lover throughout her life, Diana always found room in her heart and home for dogs and cats. She delighted in the companionship of her pets and never forgot her beloved grand-dogs, whom she adored as much.
Diana will be remembered for her creativity, generosity, strength and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the lives she nurtured and the memories she leaves behind.
