94, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15. Dinah was born in Detroit, Mich. and graduated from Cooley H.S. During WWII, Dinah volunteered at the USO, helping craft events for service personnel. After the war, Dinah met and married the love of her life, John, and they moved to Tampa in 1951. Dinah found employment as Secretary to the Chief of Police in Tampa until starting a family in 1958. After the children entered high school, Dinah resumed her career, working as a Teacher’s Assistant at Westshore Elementary School where she was beloved by both students and faculty alike and remained there until her retirement. Dinah was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and volunteered for many parish events over the years and she was an active member of the O.W.L.S. Dinah was preceded in death by her beloved husband John, parents Peter and Marie Kouris, and by brothers Stanley and James Kouris. She is survived by her son Michael (Mary Beth), daughter Stephanie, sister-in-laws Betty and Fran Kouris, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A mass in celebration of Dinah’s life will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on January 28, 2021 at 10am with internment to follow at Bay Pines National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
