COWAN, Donald K, Chief Master Sergeant (Retired), 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 16 2018. He now shines down from Heaven on those who will deeply miss him. Don served in the U. S. Air Force Strategic Air Command for 22 years, were he was involved in the Vietnam War. He worked on and flew B47s, B-52s, KC97s and KC135. He saw duty in England, North Africa, Alaska, Okinawa, Thailand and Spain. After his retirement from the Air Force, he held a position of a mail carrier for 20 years for the US Postal Office. His interest after retirement included fishing, camping, traveling worldwide, dancing and was active in his church activities. He is survived by his wife, Betty Cowan, son Michael Cowan (Jayne), daughter Tracy Sue (Steve), and grandson Nathan Fugleberg; step-daughters Bobbi Hart and Marilyn Seaman; four step-grandsons; one step-granddaughter and one step great, great grandson. Don was kind, loving and gentle every single day he was on this Earth. He will be remembered for many things especially his devotion to his family and friends. A visitation will take place on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 10AM at Oak Grove Methodist Church (2707 W. Waters Ave) with funeral services beginning at 11AM at the church. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
