Elvia Mohn

Mohn, Elvia V., 92, of Tampa, passed away peacefully Christmas Day surrounded by her loving family. Born April 27, 1923 in West Tampa, FL, the daughter of the late Carlos & Josefina Venegas and was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, photographer Charles L. Mohn; her sister Edna V Diaz; and her son in law Albert P. Leone. She was ahead of her time in her ability to balance family & career. An accomplished floral designer for over 70 years, chances are if you visited Jennies Flowers, you saw her creating art from flowers. Her memory is carried on by her brother George (Luana) Venegas; her children, Linda Leone, Cheryl (Mark Wise) Mohn, Debbie Mohn-Merritt, Charles “Chuck” M. (Robin) Mohn, and Lori (Sean) Mohn-McNenny, whom she loved dearly; along with her grandchildren, Lisa, Angel, Philip, Ashley, Bryan, Joshua, Olivia, Victoria, Dillon, and Cierra. She had many nieces and nephews whom she also loved dearly. She was high spirited, loved camping, the beach and her cats. Family was most important to her and even though she couldn’t celebrate Christmas with us, she asked us to carry on. A memorial service will be held on Jan. 23rd at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hillsborough County Humane Society.
