Haley , Again I want to say I am so sorry for your loss! The pictures of your dad brought a smile to my face and I had many memories of time spent with him. I loved him very much and he will be missed.

Haley, words can't even begin to express to you how devastated Johnny and all of us are at the sudden passing of your dad. I know you know how much he loved you and Sam. You two girls were everything to him and he was so very proud of you both. I have never seen a man so dedicated to his daughters like your dad was to the two of you. The boys are going to miss the phone calls he made to them during football and baseball season. We have so many good memories of all the times we spent together on vacation and just hanging out. We all will miss him very much. May God help you get through this sad time, just know you have friends here whenever you need them.

Ernie, you were like a brother to me. I have so many great memories of our lifelong friendship. I am going to miss you and all the times we had together. I was so lucky to have you as a friend for all of these years. May God Bless You!

I am very proud to have been Ernie's lawyer and considered him a friend.  Of the hundreds of clients I have represented, I admired Ernie the most.  He was by far the best father I have had the privilege to represent.  His integrity was inspirational.  He refused to compromise his principles because he wanted  to be the best possible role model for his daughters.

Your dad was one of my buddies where we grew up in Loudon,Tenn. (Still is my buddy.) I live in Landrum (Greer), SC.  Ernie was like a big brother to me & my heart hurts at his passing. He used to come to my house & request that I walk on his back every single time he came that was the case! LOL  I also fixed lots of turkey, cheese & tomato sandwhiches for him.  We had reconnected via Facebook & were messaging off & on.  He was going to let me know the next time he came to Loudon & I was going to try to come & see him,  I'm so sad. 
   I loved him so very much....  I will pray for you & your family for strength & comfort in the days, weeks, & months to come.      Vonda Thornton
