Beth: I was shocked to learn of Ernie's death today when I saw his name in the alumni magazine. I enjoyed being with both of you at USM. Ernie and I spent a lot of good times in the ROTC program. My prayers will be with you and your family.

Dear Beth and family,
We were sad to read about Ernie's death. We truly appreciated all of the time he devoted to making Westchase and particularly Greensprings a wonderful place to live. We will miss him walking around the neighborhood and stopping by for a quick chat. One thing we will always remember is the Annual Christmas parade with him leading in his Corvette. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I met Ernie when I was a brand new reporter for the World of Westchase. He was always so kind and welcomed me and asked how I was doing. He was such a good and kind man.

Dear Beth, I am so thankful I was able to see Ernie again last year. It was so nice to see the two of you after so many years. Time has a way of slipping by unnoticed; before long years have passed.

Ernie now awaits his Maker, which I am sure will not be long. How wonderous that day will be when his name is magnificently called forth. His body will be made anew and his heart will overwhelm with joy. I cannot wait!!!

I love you!! I will be praying for you all. May peace find a resting spot in your heart on this Sabbath day. I will see you tomorrow!!

Beth and family,
Our deepest condolences on this sad occasion. We have been friends since our kids were little and swam on the same swim team. So many good memories and so glad that we have kept in touch over all these years. Ernie was an outstanding individual, officer, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him, and especially by me.

I was at USM at the time Ernie was there although I did not know him at all. But, I do remember him as Drum Major for our great USM band. I have vivid memories of Ernie leading the band onto the field at halftime. Before the band started marching, Ernie would bend over backwards until his tall hat touched the ground. The fans would roar! He apparently had a wonderful life, and I'm sorry that I did not know him. May God bless his life as well as his family. Ron Myrick, Gpt, MS
