Esther Ellen Caldwell

Esther Killough Goodwin Caldwell, 95, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on 10/24/2019 in Safety Harbor, Florida.

Esther was born in Salem, Illinois, to William and Ruth Hoffa Killough on 11/28/1923. She went to school in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from George Washington High School. She married Luther R. Goodwin on April 9th, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She worked for Ely Lilly and Western Electric in Indianapolis for many years until relocating to Tampa, Florida with her then husband Luther Goodwin in 1966. Luther passed away on February 10th, 1993. She retired as a seamstress in Florida. She remarried to James Caldwell in December 1998. Jim was a wonderful man to her until his passing in December, 2011.

Esther was preceded in death by her mother and father; her first husband Luther Goodwin; her second husband, James Caldwell; brothers, Charles Stout, Clyde Killough, William Killough; sisters, Francis Smith, Irene Becker; and most recently her eldest son Gerald Luther Goodwin in January 2019.

Esther is survived by her son, Clyde Steven Goodwin; daughter in law Janice Goodwin; niece Ruth Becker Welsh; and grandchildren Robert Goodwin, James Goodwin, Dawn M. Barton and Michael Goodwin. There are 5 great Grandchildren,

Visitation, will be on Friday November 1st, 2019 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Blount Currie Funeral Home, 6802 Silvermill Dr. Tampa, Florida 33635

Funeral services will be held 2:30pm Friday November 1st, 2019 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

Esther was a special and beautiful woman and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. I so enjoyed getting to know her. My love and prayers are with her family as her life is celebrated.

We used go to Florida to Aunt Esther and Uncle Lou visit with them and go fishing and spend the night,,,. We always had so much fun, She was a wonderful woman. Loved her so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
