Felix C. Figueruelo
May 1, 1937 – June 7, 2026
With faith in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Felix C. Figueruelo, who entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the age of 89.
Born on May 1, 1937, in Havana, Cuba. Felix spent part of his youth in Cuba, where he attended the esteemed Marista Catholic School. He later pursued higher education at the University of La Habana, where he studied Accounting. The values of faith, family, education, and service instilled in him during his formative years guided him throughout his life.
In 1959, Felix married the love of his life, Olga Catalina Figueruelo, in Havana, Cuba. Together they shared a beautiful marriage built upon faith, devotion, sacrifice, and unconditional love. Their union became a testament to God's grace and a source of strength and inspiration for all who knew them.
Felix was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Olga Catalina Figueruelo; his children, Felix Ramon Figueruelo (Mercedes) and Carmen Maria Cayon Figueruelo (Felix); his grandchildren, Felix Luis Figueruelo, Ciara Lauren Figueruelo, Cristina Marie Lentz (Justin), Caren Cayon, Catie Cayon Holder (Alex), Giovanni Antonio Figueruelo, Zachary Cayon and Gavin Andres Figueruelo; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Noah Figueruelo, Dominic Figueruelo, Scarlett Figueruelo, Jackson Lentz, and Nora Lentz.
A man of deep Catholic faith, Felix dedicated much of his life to serving the Lord and His Church. Alongside his beloved wife, he became actively involved in the Cursillo Movement, helping lead numerous Catholic retreats and accompanying many souls on their journey toward a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. His witness of faith, humility, and service touched countless lives and reflected his desire to bring others closer to God.
Felix's greatest earthly joy was his family. He loved them deeply and took immense pride in their accomplishments and growth. He was a steady presence, a source of wisdom and encouragement, and a loving patriarch whose legacy of faith and devotion will continue through the generations that follow him.
Beyond his love for God and family, Felix was an avid photographer who delighted in capturing the beauty of God's creation and the special moments of life. He also enjoyed traveling with Olga, creating treasured memories together as they explored new places and experienced the wonders of the world.
Those who knew Felix will remember a man of kindness, integrity, generosity, and unwavering faith. He lived with gratitude, served with humility, and loved without reservation. His life was a beautiful reflection of Christ's commandment to love God and love one another. While we mourn his passing, we do not grieve without hope. As Catholics, we place our trust in the promise of Christ: that death is not the end, but the doorway to eternal life. We take comfort in knowing that Felix has gone home to the Lord whom he faithfully served throughout his life.
"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your master." — Matthew 25:23
