Fidel was raised in Tampa, Florida, where he built a life rooted in love, resilience and family. Proud of his Cuban heritage, he embraced his culture fully and shared its warmth and traditions with everyone around him.
He was a valued retired employee of Gonzalez Funeral Home, where he was respected for his dedication.
Outside of work, Fidel found joy in traveling to St. Augustine, bodybuilding and most importantly, spending meaningful time with his family. His presence brought laughter, strength and comfort, and memories he created will be cherished forever.
Fidel is survived by his lifetime partner, Maria Machin-Planchart; his Mother Caridad Santana; his sons, Carlos Santana (Tasha) and Jose A Santana; and his daughter, Monique Curry. He also leaves behind a loving legacy of 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of pride and happiness in his life. He is also survived by his two brothers, Camilo Santana (Luz) and Mario Santana (Kelly); as well as his nephews, Justin Santana, Michael Santana and Gustavo; and his niece Camila Santana. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose U. Santana, and we find comfort in imagining their joyful reunion.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Fidel’s life at a Celebration of of Life gathering to be held on March 7, 2026, 5-7PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the love Fidel shared so freely. His strength, warmth, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew him.
Forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
