Frances Lazeration, age 86, passed away on September 18, 2021 at her home in Tampa, FL surrounded by her family. Born in 1935 in New York City, Frances was the daughter of the late Tomas and Laura (Tubens) Garcia. After moving from New York City as a child, Frances and her family resided in Miami, FL where she was a homemaker. Frances was a very active person who enjoyed gardening, bowling, crocheting, ceramics, sewing, cooking, and baking. She was a chaperone for the Miami Palmetto Senior High School marching band for several years. Although she did not graduate from high school, she attended night school to earn her GED at the age of 52. Frances soon became the school treasurer at Palmetto Senior High. In 1994, she was the first-runner up for the Office Employee of the Year award from the Dade County Public School System. Of all of her accomplishments, the joy & love of family and friends was the most important, and she relished being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In 2004, she moved to her dream home in Tampa and worked as a receptionist at Christ the King Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John; sister Hilda; brothers Edward, Thomas, and Louis. Frances is survived by her sister Gloria; two daughters: Mary Atkins (Bill) and Susan Lescano (Javier); two sons: Andrew (Lorrie) and Eddy; 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church at 11:00am on Saturday, November 6th. Immediately following there will be a Celebration of Life reception at Blount & Curry Funeral Home MacDill.
