

95, of Tampa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23rd at home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Margaret McMichael; and son, Frank P. McMichael Jr. He is survived by his son, Walton H. McMichael; son, Dorsey McMichael; grandchildren: Ashley McMichael Hawk (Chad), Paul McMichael (Ehren), and Sarah McMichael Puri (Shaun); former daughter-in-law Martha Altman; and five great grandchildren: Brayden, Hannah and Ronin McMichael and Colton and Adleigh Hawk. Frank was born and raised in Tampa, and attended Plant High School where he was captain of the football team. He went on to the University of Florida and received his bachelor’s degree. Frank then joined the U.S. Army and fought in WWII in the Battle of the Bulge as an artillery captain. After the war Frank returned to Tampa and worked with his father at Crenshaw McMichael Seed Company and later with GTE Data Services. He retired in 1985 but remained very active with his immediate and extended families and was an avid tennis player, boatsman and fisherman. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 27th at 11:00 am at Hyde Park United Methodist Church, 501 W. Platt St., Tampa with reception immediately following in the church activities center. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hyde Park United Methodist Church.
