Frederick R. Hartlage Sr.

HARTLAGE, Frederick R., Sr., 95, of Tampa, passed away peacefully to the Lord on October 27, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents Valentine and Rosella Hartlage; his brothers Joseph, Edward and Valentine Hartlage and his grandson Lawrence Frederick Hartlage. Frederick Sr. is survived by his wife of 74 years, Alberta Hartlage; his sister Mildred Ripplinger; brother Francis Hartlage; children Frederick R. Hartlage Jr. (Eleanor), Mary Lois Fernandez (Dr. Robert), Brenda Mack (Warren), Dr. Randell Hartlage (Debbie), Christopher Hartlage(Patricia) and Lauren John Hartlage; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Frederick was a practicing Catholic all his life and was active in parish life. He lived his life as an example of his faith, respectful of everyone and extended his belief through charity work such as Meals on Wheels for 25 years. A family statement read, “Dad was a dear father, a strong modest example of ethical values; someone always on call for those in need; deeply devoted to the Lord and the Blessed Mother. He will be dearly missed but we all are grateful he passed in peace. We know he is now sleeping with the angels.” A visitation will be held on Tuesday October 30, 2012 from 6 to 8PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home. A funeral mass will then be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Wednesday October 31, 2012 at 12 Noon with interment to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
