Davis, Jr (Brenda loving daughter-in-law and care giver), Rene Copeland (Paul), Michele Torres (Michael) and Darrell Davis; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren. Brothers, Jack Davis, Ed Davis, Gary Davis; and many nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his father John H. Davis, Sr, mother Lois Davis, sister Juanita Wilson, brothers, Robert, John Jr and Fred.
George was a WWII Veteran serving in both the Navy and Coast Guard. He retired from Schlitz Brewery after many years of service.
George was always the life of the party and could out dance anyone in the room. He loved to play his harmonica and entertain everyone around him. He had volumes of jokes and could make everyone laugh. And most importantly he could always laugh at his self.
He was very adventurous and at the age of 69 years old he earned his pilot’s license. He soon bought his plane and it was one of his greatest joys. Hunting, golfing, boating and fishing were other hobbies he enjoyed. And he was very active in the Tampa Power Squadron in the late 1950’s and 1960’s.
George was an artist, master craftsman and carpenter.
He was also known for his very colorful language! Let’s just say it fit right into his sailor’s life.
Most of all, George loved his family, helping everyone and spending time with them.
He was very much loved and will be missed so very much. But we find comfort in his love for Christ and know that we will see him again one day in glory. We know he is having a big celebration in heaven with his father, mother and siblings.
