George (Pat), was my art teacher in elementary school and, thanks to his son's close friendship with my brother, a fixture of much of my life. He was a kind man to me, and a sharp mind. He was the kind of teacher most disabled kids like me only dream of having, patient and insistent, considerate and accomodating but not patronizing. When I got older, he treated me like an adult, one of the first gorwn-ups I know who would do so, and he wasn't afraid to talk about difficult topics like politics. He was a good man. I miss him.

George always let me say what I wanted to say,even though he knew that that I'm not always correct,he did.I looked up to him as an older brother .I think he liked me,or really hope he did.I admired his way to make new friends so fast.As a part of the surf crew we were in there were too many memories,such as these,like,George didn't leave the house without his coffee cup(what was in it?).He drove many times in that sticker covered van,or vans,he had a few sticker covered vans like I do.He liked to mess around with the bass guitar like i still do.I'll miss the way he had an artistic view on life as it is.What a great soul!!I love you George and will always let your spirit live with me!!!



George, known as Pat when we rode together many miles on bicycles around the country in the 70's, was always a calm, funny, smart and great all around guy.  I'm so very sad to hear about his passing.  RIP, brother.

He was my art teacher when I was in elementary school. That was atleast 20  years ago so I can't believe he is still in my memory. I remember being so excited for his class... and I'm not even artsy. He just brought so much joy and light to the school. I'm thankful that he and his family were in my life for those short periods of time.

Pat(George) was a man of many talents. He could fix anything and made beautiful drawings, but I was most impressed with his love of nature and super gardening skills. I , a struggling gardener, would benefit from his loving generosity when he stopped by and planted a few Swiss chard in my garden that he had extra. Another time he shared cuttings of one of his beautiful orchids. The world was made a better place by having Pat in it ❤️

George was always proud of Vicki being a teacher. During preplanning he would come in and help set up her classroom, paint a wall, install bookshelves, connect all the electronics and made it look so professional.
