Jerry DiFabrizio was born March 10, 1955, to Ernest and Lola Mary (née DeSandre) DiFabrizio in Tampa, Florida. He attended St. Lawrence Catholic School, and he is a graduate of Jesuit High School. Jerry went on to attend the University of Florida, where he was an active member of Florida Blue Key, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, and held the title of President of the Interfraternity Council. As the President and Owner of Tampa Tile Center, Jerry continued the legacy of his father, Ernest, and his grandfather Domenico, upholding the highest ethical standards of business.
Jerry was a dedicated and beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He often told others that his life truly began when he became a father to his daughters, Julia Rose and Emilia Ann. Jerry was deeply devoted to his family, and he fostered a love for reading, learning, nature, and service in his daughters. Jerry married Claire “Tassie” Vinson DiFabrizio on December 26, 2022, to whom he was a devoted and loving husband. He was a man of faith and an involved member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A lifelong voter engaged in local politics, he took his civic responsibilities seriously, advocating for his community as part of the Democratic party.
Jerry’s kindness and sincerity were unmatched. He forever maintained his humility and graciousness. He was gentle and understanding, earnest and intelligent, witty and sharp. Jerry often said, I’m always here if you need anything, and truly meant it. He kept his promises; he was honest and good. He was a leader and a mentor, a friend to many, and a fountain of wisdom. His love was infinite and unconditional. Always selfless, Jerry led an immensely meaningful life, and his legacy will live on, continuing to offer us lessons and inspire us to go further, love deeply, and learn more. An irreplaceable, beautiful soul, he will be endlessly missed.
Jerry was predeceased by his mother, Lola Mary, and his father, Ernest. Jerry is survived by his wife, Claire “Tassie” Vinson DiFabrizio; his daughters, Julia Rose and Emilia Ann; his stepchildren, Duncan Hock (Priscilla), Darcy Hock Brozyna (Dillon), and Trevor Hock (Frances); his step-grandson, Remy Brozyna; his sister, Carolyn Ann; his niece, Sarah Spooner; his aunt, Antoinette DiFabrizio Henriquez; and his many cousins.
