Dear Marcia and Family,
We are so sorry to learn about Jerry when reading the Sunday paper late in the afternoon. We have such fond memories of the time so long ago on San Luis when we were next door neighbors, and are we correct that at that time you had one son, Greg? And, we had our one daughter, Jill. We had not seen you since we ran into you and Jerry at the Old Meeting House so many years ago. I, Bill, had noticed Jerry's office on Fletcher and I "intended" to drop by to say hello. But, sadly I didn't make it in time to reacquaint, and I regret it very much. It was so meaningful to see the "walk through" of your many wonderful pictures so full of "forever loving memories." Marcia, later when you can, we'd love to hear from you. (Susan's Cell: 813-601-9943) Again, we are so very sorry and extend our deepest sympathies to you and all your family. Love, Bill and Susan Salzer

Dearest Marcia and the Boys,

I am very sorry that I could not attend the Memorial Service for Jerry. Jerry was a special person to the Stanley family and did work for several of our family members. We all knew that we could always trust Jerry to give his impartial advice and one that would always be in the best interest of the person he was representing.

I can remember the great times we had at our Gulf Hammock hunting camp, the adventures of the Honda group, Texas hunting trips, and especially his hospitality at his Gasparilla Island Resort. Jerry was normally a quite person until he heard something funny. His laugh was laud and infectious and made everyone laugh even more.

It is unfortunate that the virus made it impossible for me to attend his Memorial Service since Susan is the caregiver to her 98-year-old Mother. I could not afford to take the chance of being around a large crowd.

May God Bless You and the Boys.
Love,
Jerry & Susan Stanley

Just the kindest man I've ever met. The world just doesn't seem right without Jerry. I will never be able to go to Olive Garden, Macaroni Grill, or Iavarone's without thinking about Jerry. Not to mention the places we closed out - like Malio's and Picadilly. Or Little Gasparilla Island - all the fun times we had at his island house and how gracious he was. From the time that Jordan was little and he took her fishing with a Barbie pole, until she graduated from high school, and told us to stay as long as we wanted. I never heard Jerry say an unkind word about anyone. He was a good attorney and a good friend. I went to work for him part time and ended up staying for twenty years. I am sure that at this moment Jerry is working his grove, cigar in mouth, bright oranges as far as you can see, with a scotch waiting for him when he's finished with fish on the grill. Surrounded by family. Love you, Jerry.

Mr. Stead was a kind and compassionate person. He helped my wife and me several times in legal matters. He was generous and we appreciated the help he gave us. He also helped our family when our parents passed away. We are grateful for all the time he spent with us and the work he did for us.

Mr. Stead was very compassionate as he helped me navigate losing both my parents, just months apart. His wisdom and kindness were very much appreciated and his oranges were delicious! My condolences to the family. May he rest in peace.

Jerry was a true southern gentleman. He loved his family, citrus and fishing. I can remember having a great time on Little Gasparilla with he and Marcia. He so generously took the group fishing and cooked a delicious dinner with the catch. He took the time that weekend to explain to me why my citrus trees were dying.
