Sultenfuss, Grace Lee 80, of Tampa died peacefully in her home surrounded by family and loved ones on May 2, 2015. Grace was born to the late LaMarcus Walthugh (Skew) and Cecile Turner Lee on March 9, 1935 in Tampa where she remained a lifelong resident. The Lee family are prominent Florida citrus growers and are linear descendants of Richard Henry Lee, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Grace attended Wilson Junior High School, The Academy of Holy Names, H. B. Plant High School of Tampa, Florida and Brenau Academy in Gainesville, GA. On September 11, 1954, Grace married the love of her life, Louis Clare Sultenfuss at Christ the King Catholic Church. Together they raised their two daughters, Mary Claire and Grace in the home Louis had built for his bride during their engagement. One of Grace's greatest loves was of music and playing the piano. Although qualified to teach, she played for her own pleasure and for those she loved. Anytime you would come visit her, she would sit at the piano and play anything from Moonlight Sonata and Clair de lune to Boogie Woogie. Gracie, as her friends and family would call her, was always the life of the party, full of fun and had the most beautiful smile. She could fill a room with her charm and grace. Her favorite escape was going to the beach and swim in the Gulf. Grace is preceded in death by her loving husband, Louis Clare Sultenfuss, and sisters, Marion Claire Lee, Cecile Lee Burnett, and Joan Lee Sultenfuss. Loving family that survive are her daughters, Mary Claire Sultenfuss and Grace G. Sultenfuss; sister, Mary Louise Cutolo, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Team Grace - Woodrow (Woody) Wright, Llumila Laverdeza, and physical therapist Lynda Parks, who took such good care of her for the past four years, treating her as if she were their own family member. A visitation will take place from 4-6pm on Thursday, May 7th at Blount & Curry MacDill, 605 S. MacDill Ave. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, May 8th at Christ the King Catholic Church, 821 S. Dale Mabry Highway. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. Donations may be made in her name to the Children’s Cancer Center, 4901 W. Cypress St., Tampa, FL 33607.
