

ARAYA SR., Harry Joseph, 77, of Tampa Florida passed away on August 24, 2010. He was born and raised in Manhattan, New York and moved to Florida with his family in 1972. He is survived by his wife, Santa Daila Araya; children, Antonia Martinez, Harry Araya Jr., daughter Lisa Araya Statuto, and Dalia Cordero; grandchildren, Dana Martinez, Krystle Martinez, Adrianna Araya, Raquel Gifford, Veittoria Statuto, Elena Patterson, Justin Patterson; great-grandchildren, Antonia Martinez, Angel Martinez, Charlee Rae Kaeser, Jalaun Patterson; sisters, Frances Araya and Delia Nicot. Harry was predeceased by his mother, Frances Aguayo, his father Angel Araya, and his brother Angel Araya. Harry graduated in 1951 from Benjamin Franklin High School in Manhattan, New York and joined the United States Army in 1952; he was stationed in Germany and was honorably discharged after serving 4 years. He is a retiree from the Hillsborough County School Board “Erwin Vocational Technical School”. Harry liked to work on his cars and he was a regular “Mr. Fix It”. He enjoyed watching and cheering on his favorite baseball team, the Tampa Bay Rays and his favorite basketball team, the Orlando Magic. Harry loved birds and watching his classic movies. Visitation will be held on Saturday August 28th, 2010 from 5pm to 8pm with funeral service at 7pm, all at Gonzalez Funeral Home 7209 N. Dale Mabry Hwy Tampa, FL 813-931-1833.
