Harvey McMillan Garner

Mac was born in Elmore, Alabama in 1939 to parents Katy and Harvey Garner, the middle of 3 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Frankie Harrell, and his brother, Gary Garner. Mac was a solid student, a noted athlete lettering in both football and basketball, and a friend to many at H.B. Plant High School Class of 1957. Mac was the first in his family to attend college. He briefly attended The University of Florida where he was a proud member of Sigma Nu Fraternity prior to a terrible car accident that altered the trajectory of his life. By the grace of God, Mac survived that accident and was able to work for many years as a delivery driver for local Tampa businesses. During his life, Mac enjoyed playing bridge and other card games, playing golf whenever possible with his long-time Plant H.S. buddies, and watching his beloved Florida Gators football.

Mac is survived by his sister-in-law, Carol Garner, his brother-in-law, Stan Harrell, his 3 nieces, Krista Garner Maddox, Camille Garner Collier, Whitney Harrell, his nephew, Christopher Harrell, and his 6 great-nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private graveside goodbye at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, where Mac will be lain to rest next to his parents.
