Hector B. Colado

COLADO, Hector B., 88, passed away on March 4, 2018 in Tampa, FL. The son of cigar makers, Hector was born on April 7, 1930 in Tampa, FL. He began his career working for the Tampa Police Department before becoming a union bricklayer. Hector left his mark all over Tampa, having constructed many notable buildings throughout the area. He then worked as a security guard for the Tampa Tribune before his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Mary Electra Colado. Hector is survived by his daughter Cynthia Fernandez (Ivan); son Michael Colado (Sandy); daughter Yvonne Garren (Danny); daughter Michelle Pliego; nine grandchildren Robert, Gabriel, Alex, Olivia, Carmen, Maggie, Michael, Craig, and Brian; stepdaughter Rocky Valdez (Happy) and sister Ligia Renedo. A funeral service will take place at 10AM on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Gonzalez Funeral Home with family receiving friends afterwards till 12noon. Burial will then follow at Garden of Memories in Tampa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
