I am heartbroken and devastated to learn of the loss of my hairdresser and friend of 38 years, Hue.  My daughter Cherie, who also knew Hue very well and went to her for her hair as well.  Hue was more than our hairdresser she was our good friend too.  We are both still in shock as I'm sure all her family and friends must be too.

My deepest condolences go out to all her family and close friends. Hue was the very best hairdresser that I ever went to in my entire life.  

She was such a sweet, genital and kind lady and was loved by all who knew her.  She was one in a million.  Her loss is great and will be felt for many years to come, not only by myself, but by all who knew Hue.  

My condolences also go out to all her co-workers and friends at Gainsborough Salon in Tampa, as I know how much you all must miss her too.   

May you rest in peace Hue and God bless you.

Simone and family,  I started going to Hue more than 20 years ago. She was a wonderful person, always happy and helpful. She always did a great job fixing my hair. She will be missed by many. I know she loved all of you,and that she is watching over you. I will miss her alot.

I started going to Hue 18 years ago at ManTrap. She was a very talented stylist and such a kind person. When my husband was diagnosed with cancer in 2000, Hue came to the hospital to cut his hair. I tried to pay her, but she wouldn't accept any money. Hue always put others before herself. She was such a giving person! I'm still coming to terms with the fact that Hue is gone, and I will say my goodbyes later today.

My heart is breaking for you, as well as all who knew Hue. I also meet your Mom at Mantrap, I have such wonderful memories of those days. I loved my spiral perms, she would always stay late with me to finish up our 3 to 4 hour hair adventures. She was so talented, most people thought my hair was naturally spiral ( lol) straight as if flat ironed. I followed her with each move. She had a way of making you feel like family, I feel like I was part of your family from all the stories she shared. Heaven has gained a precious soul. You do not know me, but you have been a part of my life since your mom began working at Mantrap. She took care of me, and at various times both of my sons, my husband and my mother. Hue attended my younger son's wedding and even though it was over 6 years ago, every once in a while she would bring it up so we could share a laugh. She loved and was loved, and will be sorely missed. She loved all of you to the ends of the earth and I know she is watching over you now. I will miss hearing about her grandchildren, sharing stories with her and most of all, her loving heart. I pray that you and your family can quickly find the peace of wonderful memories spent with her.

I first met Hue back in 1985 at the old ManTrap location. Ever since, she's been a sounding board for every important (and some not so important) event of my life. She had an intuitive wisdom that never wavered, and she dearly loved her family and friends. My heart goes out to all of them, especially her comrades at Gainsborough. This weekend, my wife and I will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary on a short cruise. My first beverage will be a toast to one of the kindest souls I've ever known.

I worked with Hue many years ago at Mantrap.  It truly was a blessing to know her. 

Hue, you are missed dearly! I always looked forward to our talks while you did my hair! For over 18 years every 6 weeks it was fun. You were the best!  You lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment. You will always be in all of our hearts...

Hue,  every six weeks for these many years I visited with you while you cut my hair. You knew my family , and I knew yours. You confided in me; I confided in you. I will very much miss these visits.
 I found your last appointment card in my car yesterday; in your handwriting it said "Feb 23, 5:30". So very sad seeing this card, and realizing that our visits will no longer be. Rest In Peace , Hue. You will be missed.

I am reminded of this quote I saw in a shop a long time ago. "Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional.  It's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it".  For me, yesterday I thought of you Hue Singletary when I saw a beautiful double rainbow over our house.  It reminded me of your beautiful face and the song "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" came to mind. You touched so many lives.  Your memory knocks the wind out of me. This is a tremendous loss to the world.  Rest in Peace my friend.  I will love you always!
