Inge Elizabeth Quigley
January 4, 1941 – May 15, 2021
Inge Quigley, 80, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on May 15, 2021.
Inge was born on January 4, 1941 in Egeln, Germany to her parents, Alfred and Anna. Her father died in World War II in 1943, and she was raised by her mother. Inge grew up around her mother’s family and attended Heimschule Lender in Sasbach, a beautiful village in the foothills of the northern Black Forest. Following high school, she moved to London, working to improve her English proficiency and was hired as a governess for a wonderful family in Lake Forest, Illinois. During her time in Illinois, she met a sailor named Frank Quigley, and they married on June 28, 1969 in Lake Forest.
After Frank retired from the U.S. Navy, the family settled in Tampa to raise their two children. Inge was a stay-at-home mother until her children were in high school, and worked for a national sporting goods retailer for more than 12 years. She was an active member of Incarnation Catholic Church for over 30 years, and was honored to serve as a Eucharistic Minister.
After Frank’s death in 2000, Inge spent a great deal of time visiting and caring for her own mother in Germany until her passing, in 2013. Over the last 20 years, she took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and has enjoyed living in the comfort of her home while caring for her garden.
Inge is preceded in death by her husband, Francis (Frank/Gene) Quigley.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah Martino of Gulfport, FL; her son Robert (Debbie) of Tallahassee, FL; and her four grandchildren, Sofia, Patrick, Evan and Bryce.
