

Jack Gombos, 70, of Valrico, passed away on Saturday March 12, 2016 surrounded by his family. Jack was born in Tarpon Springs, Florida on April 30, 1945. He was predeceased by his mother Alice Gombos and his father Demetri Gombos. Jack is survived by his wife Harriet of 43 years, sister Maria (Gregory), brother Emmanuel, sister Dena(John), brother Nick (Joanne), son James (Samantha), son Chris (Ashley), as well as grandchildren Tyce, Sophia, Jack, and Hayden. Jack and Harriet were destined to be together. He caught the garter and she caught the bouquet at her sister and his friend's wedding in New York. After they married, they lived in Tampa, then moved to Brandon and later built the home where they raised their family in Valrico. Jack lived by a simple code - work hard and love your family. He always put his family’s well-being above his own. He had his own business, Omega Industrial Products, for over 30 years where his customers quickly became his friends. His passions were fishing, family and his dog, Booker. A viewing will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home with a Trisagion service held at 7 p.m.. The funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 16 at St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church.
