Jaime Torres Marrero, 83, passed away March 2, 2014. He was born in Morovis, Puerto Rico; served our country during the Korean War; married the love of his life; worked in General Motors, Tarrytown NY as a Paint Department Assembly Line worker, and raised a loving family in the Bronx, NY before settling down in Tampa, FL to be with his sons and their beloved families. Jaime was a caring, respectful man who loved to make people smile. He will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace Papi.
He is survived by his loving wife Carmen Rosa (Rosin), oldest son Jim and wife Beatriz, youngest son Dr. Carlos Torres and wife Bethzaida. Grandkids include Jim Jr., Jessica Marie, David Raymond, Carlos Jr., Ricky, Crystal, and Miguel. Great Grandkids include James William, Yasmia, Carson, and Christian Miles. He was preceded in death by his beloved Granddaughter Elizabeth Rosa. Surviving brothers and sisters include Carmen, Blanca, Paquita, Raffi, Luis, Tony, and Edwin. His adopted brother Pepin preceded him in death.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 7, 2014, at Incarnation Catholic Church, 5124 Gateway Dr., Tampa, FL 33615, with burial to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens11005 N. US Hwy 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592. The family will be receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33614
