Jakob Montgomery Starnes, aged 26, passed away on May 3, 2025, in Tampa, FL. Born on June 9, 1998, Jakob was known for his intelligence, articulate speech, sweetness, loving nature, and a genuine, infectious laugh. Jakob graduated from Plant High School in 2016. Throughout his life, he was loved video games, reading, politics, history, and classic rock, which reflected his broad range of knowledge and passions.
He is survived by his mother, Amy Sunderland Moran; step-father, Gary Moran; sister, Savannah Starnes; grandparents, Candance and Joseph Sabella, and Michael and Charlotte Sunderland; and Aunt and Uncle, Shawn and Nikki Starnes and Uncle Michael Sunderland. He was preceded in death by his father, Christopher Starnes. Maternal grandmother- Sonja Kern-Nixon.
A Celebration of Jakob's Life will be held on Friday May 9, 2025 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Blount and Curry Life Event Center, 605 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pet Pal, 405 22nd St S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712, honoring Jakob's love for animals. Jakob's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit and laughter will forever resonate with his loved ones.
