James Aaron Gillett, 85, of Tampa, Florida passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Born on September 11, 1938 in Hudson, Florida to James Aaron Gillett, Sr. and Edna Strickland, Aaron spent most of his life as a resident of Tampa where he enjoyed his passion of boating and spending quality time with his beloved friends and family. He was the owner and founder of Gillett Auto Center and touched the lives of many Tampa residents through his service in the auto industry. He was selfless, caring, and loved by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers David Suydam, Ronnie Suydam, Ray Gillett, and Larry Cox. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Frances Gillett, daughter Debbie Gillett and her husband Glenn Rossbach, son David Gillett and his wife Valerie Gillett, granddaughter Elizabeth Rossbach, and grandsons Carter Gillett and Ethan Gillett.
