

83, of Tampa, FL passed away from complications of a long illness on August 31, 2016. “Jim” was born in Highland Park, MI on October 25, 1932 to Mathius and Gertrude Kiesgen. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Iris and his children, Mike Kiesgen (Janet) of Mount Airy, MD, Danica Walker (Mike Whalen) of Atlanta, GA, and David Kiesgen (Anna) of Long Island, NY. He is also survived by his loving step-children, Cheryl Whaley , Kathy Cusic (Cecil), and Ray Kegley (Dao) – all of Tampa, FL. In addition – Jim was grandfather to 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son – Mark Kiesgen and his beloved pets Mickey and Miss Kitty. Jim traveled the world while in the Air Force and upon his retirement in 1972 moved with his family to Tampa, FL – making it his home. Jim was a loving, kind, hysterically funny man with a huge heart who brought joy and laughter to not only his family but to friends and co-workers throughout his life. He was also retired from the State of Florida and volunteered his services upon his final retirement to many causes. He was loved and will be missed by many. A gathering will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 10:30 am - 12:00pm. The Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Jim’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society or the ASPCA.
