James A. Strachan, 63, passed away on October 19, 2026. Born in Fort Pierce, Florida, to George and Gertha Mae Strachan, James lived a life enriched by his passion for music. He had gifted hands, a brilliant mind, and a heart that reached countless others. Before embracing a life of music as a musician and singer, James worked as a mechanical engineer, providing for his family through his profession. Before that, he served in the military for seven years and received an honorable discharge. James loved his family, his music, and a good football or basketball game. For many years, he spent his pastime playing the keyboard and writing songs, creating inspiring, feel-good music that expressed his love for his craft. Dad had his hands in many pots throughout his life. He was a big advice giver who loved to be needed and was always ready to help. Whether preparing food for the homeless, coaching a Little League football team, giving his grandkids advice, or just getting in somebody’s butt because they needed some straightening out, Dad was there for it all. He will forever be missed and loved for it. James, Dad, your earthly song has ended, but the melody of your love still plays in our hearts. Forever loved, forever remembered. Our Mr. Melody.
