

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of James L. Ware, Jr. (Jim), 67, who left us peacefully on March 31, 2025. Born on June 16, 1957, Jim was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was known for his independent spirit, unwavering work ethic and immense love for his family.
A graduate from Jesuit High School, Tampa and The University of Florida, Jim was a man of few words but profound actions. He valued loyalty, integrity and honesty which defined his character. Jim lived a life full of adventure and a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. Whether fishing, hiking, skydiving or simply spending time in nature, he found peace and fulfillment in the natural world around him. Though independent, Jim always put his family first and was a steady source of support.
Jim was a leader and mentor in several groups and had innate kindness that shone through in his interactions with others. He supported his friends, offered a listening ear when needed, and greeted every stranger with humility and a warm smile.
Jim’s legacy is one of love, humility, and resilience. He will be missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, especially his beloved son, James Lowell Ware III and his cherished Granddaughter Kaedyn Rayl Ware, whom was the light of his life and spoke of her often with pure joy.
In addition to his treasured son and granddaughter, Jim is survived by 4 brothers, Mike, Bill, Mark and Ricky and their families as well as legions of uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces. Jim is preceded in death by his father James Lowell Ware Sr. and mother Barbara Ann Ware.
A funeral mass for James will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Christ The King Catholic Church, 821 S Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, Florida 33629, followed by the Celebration of Life Reception which will be held in the McLoughlin Center.
