

Tampa, FL- Jane (Harrison) Elliott Lowry passed away on Tuesday July 26, 2022 at Discovery Village at Westchase. She was born in Tampa, Florida on February 6, 1927 the daughter of John N. Harrison Jr. and Mary Lou Bachman. Jane attended Gorrie, Wilson, and Plant High School graduating in 1945. She continued her education at the University of Alabama. Jane was a third-generation member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Hyde Park. She was a former member of the Junior League of Tampa, HB Plant Museum Society, The Chislers, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Tampa Yacht and Country Club, Palm Ceia Golf and Country Club, and a Merrymakers Sponsor in 1948. Jane was an avid pastel artist and did many portraits of children and adults residing in many southern homes. She retired in 1980 as Vice President of the Free Press, and Editor of the legal newspaper, founded in 1911 by her grandfather, John N. Harrison.
Jane was predeceased by her husbands M. Leo Elliott Jr., Uldric (Tommy) Thompson III, and J.B. (Jack) Lowry.
She is survived by her son, M. Leo Elliott III (Trey), daughters Lynn Elliott Rydene and her husband Dave, And Sheila Tracy Elliott, Grandchildren Harrison Grady Hodges (Kate), and Tracy Parlin White (Brandon), and her brother John N. Harrison III (Demi) and sister in law Jo Beth.
In Jane’s memory, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Tampa or St. John’s Episcopal Church.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday August 18, 2022 at 2:00PM in the St. John’s Episcopal Church 906 South Orleans Ave Tampa, Florida. On-line condolences can be given to the family at www.blountcurrymacdill.com.
