

Jean Altman Lamb, 97, passed away on February 8, 2026, in Tampa, Florida. He was a beloved husband father and grandfather. He was born on May 4, 1928 in Ft. Myers, Florida, to the late Orian C. Lamb and Paula C. Altman Lamb.
Jean proudly served his country in the United States Army as a parachutist and code operator in occupied Japan after World War 2. He married Irene Gloria Fernandez on October 26, 1952, in Tampa, Florida He spent his professional career in sales and management with the National Cash Register Company.
From a young age Jean’s passion was sailing, which led him to work as a charter boat captain in the Virgin Islands as a young man. Later in life, he often entertained family and friends on his sailboats Pelican and My Therapy. He and Irene were avid world travelers. After Irene’s death, Jean continued to travel with his sons and granddaughter. At the age of 95 he went to Antarctica with cousins.
Jean is survived by his son Bruce Lamb and granddaughter Alison Lamb, both of Tampa. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Irene, his son Keith of Tampa, his parents and his two brothers Howard Orian Lamb, Sr. and Richard Norman Lamb, both of Maryland.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jean’s life on Saturday February 28, 2026, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Blount & Curry Life Event Center, 605 S. MacDill Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33609, with a service to follow at 1:30 p.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Myrtle Hill Cemetery, 4202 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33610.
