Joan Thompson Fields, 79, of Tampa, passed away August 17, 2018. She was a graduate of H.B. Plant High School and attended The University of Georgia. Joan was a Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla Debutante and Maid, and also a member of St Andrews Episcopal Church, Chi Omega Sorority Alumni, The Junior League of Tampa and The National Society of Colonial Dames of America.
Joan was passionate about horseback riding, tennis and especially her loving family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George Albert Thompson and Susan Vann Thompson; twin sister, Jean Thompson Brown.
Joan is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dan Wallace Fields, Jr.; children, Susann Fields Fox, Dan (Deena) Wallace Fields, III; grandchildren, Madison Smith Fox, Erin Thompson Fields, Dan Wallace Fields, IV; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 11am at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 2pm at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 509 E Twiggs St, Tampa, FL 33602.
