

Jocelyn Anne Jordan was born August 13, 1942, and died August 17, 2022, at the age of 80 in Land O Lakes, Florida. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Cesar Enrique Jordan, children Michael Enrique Jordan (Lisa), Christopher Edmundo Jordan (April), Jennifer Anne Thompson (Butch), and David Cesar Jordan (Laura), grandchildren Blake Jordan (Emily), Brianna Chalghoumi (Marwen), Brent Jordan, Lidia Clark (Travis), Bellamei Cochran (Stuart), Ben Jordan, Briella Jordan, Brinley Jordan, Bayla Jordan, and Braxton Jordan, Bradley Jordan (Aryanna) and Frank Jordan (Serena), Caleb Day, Hannah Day, Sarah Day, Zachary Thompson, and Paige Thompson, Juliet Jordan and Isabel Jordan, great grandchildren Geovanni Clark, Lucas Clark, Olivia Jordan, and Emmalyn Chalghoumi. Jocelyn is also survived by her sister Susie Bell, her nephews and niece Ricky Bell (Shelly), Robbie Bell (Sandy), and Becky Adams (Billy), Brian Wise Jr. (Kelly), Matthew Wise, and several great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Oliver B. Wise and Frances Linek Wise, brothers Brian Wise Sr. and Michael Wise, her nephew David Bell, and her great granddaughter Ada Jordan.
Jocelyn was born in Valparaiso, Indiana, the daughter of Oliver B. Wise and Frances Linek Wise. Her family relocated to Miami, Florida in 1944, where she graduated from Hialeah High School Class of 1960 and awarded the Silver Knight Honor for Foreign Language. That same year she was accepted to Inter American University in San German, Puerto Rico where she met the love of her life Cesar Enrique Jordan. Jocelyn and Cesar were married in Ciales, Puerto Rico in 1962.
Living in Miramar, Florida, with her husband and four children, Jocelyn was determined to support her husband's calling to attend medical school in Sevilla, Spain from 1975-1981. She worked and raised their children in Sevilla while Cesar studied. Upon returning to the United States, Jocelyn ultimately completed her education, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with honors from Florida State University in 1992. She loved the arts, music, theatre, and traveling. As well as living in Spain and in Puerto Rico, she has traveled to Venezuela, Portugal, Morocco, Great Britain, Italy, and Israel. Jocelyn was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who faithfully prayed for all of her family daily. She was a devoted Christian blessed with the heart of a servant. She accompanied her husband on medical mission trips to Venezuela and hosted a special family from Honduras whose child was in need of medical care.
She was cultured and elegant. Proverbs 31:10-31 describes her best, A Wife of Noble Character.
A viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 5PM to 8PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home with prayers being offered at 7PM. A Celebration of Jocelyn's Life will then take place on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 10AM at Iglesia Bautista de Carrollwood with interment to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa, FL.
