John Andrew Green

John Andrew Green, 68, of Tampa, FL, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He was predeceased in life by his father and mother, Richard and Thelma Green. He left behind loving wife Susan, daughter Dr. Jenna Green (Henry), son Garrett (Kelly), sister Saundra, brother Richard (Mary Ann), nephew Zane (Maureen), niece Brandy (Russell), grandsons Aiden and Logan, sister-in-law Sylvia (Bobby), nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Jaxson.

Born December 15, 1954 in Frostburg, MD, where he graduated from Beall High School class of ‘72 and Frostburg State University class of ‘77.

He spent over four decades working for Allegheny, US Air, US Airways, and finally American Airlines. It was through this work where he met his wife and discovered a love for travel. His passions were hiking in the outdoors with his dog Jaxson, snow skiing, watching football, old television shows and movies, growing tomatoes, spending time in Cape May, NJ, his children, and sharing laughs with everyone who spoke with him.

John always had some kind of project underway or was planning his next project. If he wasn't sure how to do something, he did some research and taught himself.

Funeral services will be held at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home at 6802 Silvermill Dr, Tampa, FL 33635, on Saturday, September 30. Public viewing is 1pm-3pm and Service 3pm-4pm. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in John’s name to the National Park Service at give.nationalparks.org.
