Born in Brooklyn, New York, John made his home in Staten Island for many years before relocating to Tampa in 1999. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army Transportation Corps from December 1958 through November 1960. Following his military service, John enjoyed a long and successful career as a regional sales manager in the travel industry, a vocation that perfectly aligned with his lifelong passion for exploring the world.
A devoted fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers for life, John was also an active member of his local veteran’s club. Above all, John cherished his family and took immense pride in being a grandfather—never missing a dance recital, flag football game, or school activity for his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Betty Riccardi; his brother, Ralph Riccardi; and his sisters, Annette Walsh and Florence Sampogna.
John is survived by his sons, John Robert Riccardi and his wife Kim, and Mark Timothy Riccardi and his wife Sheri; his brother, Tom Carroll; his sisters-in-law, Jeanette Carroll and Jeanette Riccardi; and his four cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Tyler, Allison, and Cole Riccardi.
