John and I became friends at TECO. In Standards we got to work together and frequently he shared about his family. He was a proud father, husband and son. His engineering skills raised the level of professionalism in the department. He was very helpful to a lot of people.

John Sullivan was a good friend, mentor and study partner. He contributed greatly to my growth as an employee and an engineer. I even learned a little patience from him. We studied together for the PE exam, and played golf together.

I will miss him.

I began my career at TECO in 1975, John was my first boss at Tampa Division Engineering. While TECO was a great company to work for, John made the work environment a great place to grow in experience. He encouraged innovation when computers were just beginning to become a desktop tool. I am saddened by his passing and will always have very fond memories of him. He was a great person and a great engineer.

John was my boss in Standards for almost 15 years. He was more than my boss he was a good friend and confidant. We shared many conversations at lunch at TECO and more in St. Pete after he retired. He would drive to Eckerd and pick me up for lunch. I will think of him often. Quinell and Karen are in my prayers.

I am saddened to learn of John's passing. I worked with him at Tampa Electric Company for nearly 40 years. He was a quiet man, genuine, with a ready smile. My prayers are with his family.
