

Born on February 8, 1922, in Havana, Cuba, Josefina was the cherished daughter of Fermin Comesañas and Maria Leonor Rodriguez. She excelled in her studies, graduating from the prestigious Escuela Normal de la Habana. Blessed with a natural talent for teaching and mentorship, she dedicated the early part of her life to education, teaching homemaking in Cuba until 1959. Following her move to the United States, Josefina poured that same passion, warmth, and devotion into her truest joy: being a dedicated homemaker and a deeply loving mother to her family.
Josefina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alfredo Trujillo Sr., and her son, Ariel “Bobby” Trujillo.
Her beautiful legacy lives on through her surviving family, who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her daughter, Ivonne L. Fernandez of Tampa, Florida; her son, Alfredo Trujillo Jr. of Dover, Florida; and her son, Dr. Carlos Alberto Trujillo of New Orleans, Louisiana. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Alfred C. "Freddy" Fernandez, Alec C. Fernandez, Alfred Trujillo III, Ashley M. Chrisman, Amy Logan, and Carla J. Trujillo; and her great-grandchildren, Forest C. Fernandez, Connor Fernandez, Celine Fernandez, Milani Fernandez, Mitchell Andrew Chrisman, Khloe Nicole Chrisman, Evan A. Trujillo, Rylee Ann Trujillo, Max Logan, and Myles Hall.
Those honored to serve as her pallbearers are Alfredo Trujillo Jr., Carlos Alberto Trujillo, Alfred C. "Freddy" Fernandez, Alec C. Fernandez, Alfred Trujillo III, Forest C. Fernandez, Mitchell Chrisman, and Connor Fernandez.
A visitation will be held at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL 33614, US, on July 9, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will then take place on July 10, 2026 at 10:30AM at the funeral home with the family receiving guests one hour prior. Burial will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, 4202 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610, at 12:00PM.
