89, of Tampa, passed away peacefully, on Monday, July 25th. Born in Garfield, New Jersey, moved to Tampa in 1952, she began her wonderful life in the Tampa Bay Area with her husband, Rick, and children, Philip and Marie. In 1961, her third child, Ricaldo Jr., was born. Jo was a member of Christ the King Church, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was an avid tennis player and played both League tennis and socially with friends. She taught her grandchildren the art of swinging the racquet as soon as she could get them on the court. She was a voracious reader. She loved working in her yard. She was a walking cook book and a gourmet cook - She always made sure you had something to eat even if you weren’t hungry. Jo made you feel welcome and important. She showed up for funerals, birthdays, and for hospital visits. She mastered the art of the written note, not in an email form. She participated! She was seldom sidelined. She celebrated life’s joys and wept at life’s sorrows. Jo taught us the importance of the spending time together. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ricaldo Cagno. She is survived by sons, Philip and Rick Cagno; daughter, Marie Rumph (Bruce); grandchildren: Anthony, Anna, Jennifer (Giampaolo), Christopher (Melissa), Ricky, Katherine, Julia, great- grandchildren: Alessandro, Molly, Liliana; siblings: Mary Cacacavella; Anthony Librera; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 29th at 10am at Blount & Curry, 605 S. MacDill Ave. Tampa, FL with interment to follow at Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Arrangements handled by Blount & Curry MacDill, 813-876-2421.
