The youngest of 9 children, Dolly was born in Cold Spring, Putnam County, New York, to the late Giovanni “John” Critelli and Madalena “Madeline” (Gigliotti) Critelli.
Dolly later made her home in Florida, where she shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Edward John Gallio, Sr. “Eddy”, until his passing on June 17, 2005. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith and service to others.
Throughout her professional life, Dolly held secretarial positions, but it was retirement that marked the beginning of a meaningful chapter centered on helping others. Alongside her husband, she helped direct Daystar Life Center, a faith-based nonprofit organization in Tampa, Florida, providing essential resources and assistance to individuals and families facing poverty. Their shared commitment to serving those in need reflected Dolly's generous spirit and compassionate heart.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Dolly was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, where she faithfully participated in the church choir for many years.
Above all, Dolly treasured her family. She is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Frank J. Gallio, with his wife, Susan, and Edward J. Gallio, Jr. with his wife, Donna. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Nick, Melodie, Jeremy, Brandi, Caitlyn, and her adored great-grandchildren, Brodie, Lincoln, Harmony, Angel, Clementine, and Zion.
Dolly will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her dedication to helping others, and the love she shared so generously with those around her. Her life was a beautiful example of service, compassion, and devotion, and her memory will live in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
A Memorial Service will be held at Blount & Curry Life Event Center, 605 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL 33609, on November 13, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm. Following the memorial service, family and friends are invited to remain for a time of gathering and remembrance until 5:00 pm.
